Candace Cameron Bure recently shared her thoughts on the “temples” of today, and how our bodies are used to glorify God.
“God lives in me,” she said during a new episode of THE CANDACE CAMERON BURE PODCAST. “When we say that we are a temple of the Holy Spirit, it’s because I am a house for God. You know, they used to — in the Old Testament, they would…build the ark, and it would go around. They’d travel around with it and there’d be a cloud by day and fire by night, and you knew that God was with them.”
Bure added, “Then Jesus came and Jesus was present on the earth in physical form as a man. And then He said, ‘I’m going to go away. I’m going to give you something better,’ and so, while there was always a temple or a place for God to dwell, whether that was the ark, whether that was a physical temple, like Solomon built, or it was Jesus Himself, the temple now in which God is housed is our body. It’s us.”

The FULL HOUSE actress often shares her thoughts on faith. In a recent appearance on the JESUS CALLING podcast, Bure spoke about turning to God during moments of stress or crisis.
“I have to remind myself and renew my mind that my joy doesn’t come from my circumstances around me,” she said. “My joy comes from the Lord and the goodness that He gives me and having hope in Him for eternity. And through that joy, He gives me my strength to persevere each day, to endure every day, to take another step, to be able to breathe deeply. God calls us to walk with Him, and you can’t get to know someone if you don’t spend time with them.”
Bure’s faith also runs through her work as an actress. In a new interview with Us Weekly, the actress said, “Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ truly is the most important thing in my life, and I get to share this in creative ways as a woman of faith in the entertainment industry.”
“The Bible says to go out into the world and share the good news with others, to share the gospel,” she continued. “To deny that in any part of my life would be denying the very thing that I’m so appreciative of, which is Jesus. I cannot separate those two things, and so I walk boldly in that. Throughout that process, sometimes you take hits and people don’t like you for it, but this is my life. I get to make my choices.”
Whether it’s through her work as an actress, her day-to-day life, or even her physical body, Bure puts God at the center of all things.
