Kevin and Sam Sorbo are encouraging people to remember the reason for the season this Christmas.
“Believing in God, believing in Jesus has always been with me,” Kevin said in an interview with THE 700 CLUB. “St. John’s Lutheran Church was really my second home.”
He continued, “Christmas, obviously, was just wonderful in our family. We absolutely loved it and had such a great time doing it, and we’re looking forward to this Christmas.”
However, for Sam, things were a bit different; she was raised Jewish, and had a Protestant stepfather.
“We celebrated Christmas and celebrated Easter, but we didn’t really understand the meaning behind the holidays,” she explained.

Sam emphasized that Christmas is “such a meaningful holiday,” but “our culture has sort of turned away from it.”
“Now you’re almost castigated for saying ‘Merry Christmas,’” she continued. “I thought, you know, let’s take a look at the importance behind this holiday. Jesus came to the world as a light in the darkness, and we ought to recognize that maybe a little bit more.”
Kevin added, “Remember, the reason for the season is Jesus and people forget that.”
The Sorbos put their faith at the forefront of their lives, both personal and professional. The couple are set to appear in the upcoming movie THE FLOOD: END OF MANKIND, a retelling of the story of Noah’s ark.
“I love working with Kevin,” the movie’s director, Tim Chey, said in a press release. “He’s a man’s man and maybe the most macho actor I’ve ever worked with. More importantly is Kevin’s faith in Christ. That’s the most important.”
Speaking about his inspiration for THE FLOOD, Chey said, “We’re 100% living in the last days before the Lord’s return. Everything points to His return. And Jesus said in the days of Noah so shall it be before His return.”
“I remember a time when there were no mass shootings,” he continued. “So does Kevin. And so we’re in an incredible period of violence, scams, unbridled sex, hatred, murder, everything. I hope this film scares people out of the Lake of Fire.”
In an interview with Fox News, Kevin spoke about the change he’s been seeing in Hollywood when it comes to faith-based projects.
“Hollywood is shifting a little bit because I’m starting to get calls from the studios saying, ‘Hey, there’s a big thing with this stuff. So maybe send us a couple of scripts,’” he said. “So, I’m reaching out to Netflix and Amazon with a couple of scripts that I have that aren’t in your face about faith, but the messages are there. There’s a positive message instead of negative ones, so I think we’ve reached a tipping point.”
For the Sorbos, faith is the most important thing, especially during the Christmas season.
