More Detail:

CABIN FEVER is a gross horror flick about several college students who rent a cabin in the woods for a wild weekend. What they don’t know is that a flesh-eating virus from polluted water has infected the area. An infected hermit attacks them and one of the students starts showing signs of the infection. After much arguing, they isolate her, but dissension continues among the group when all their efforts to get help fail. Their situation gets increasingly desperate until the movie’s violent, gruesome, distasteful finish.

CABIN FEVER is a thoroughly unappetizing horror movie. It doesn’t even have any of the wit and humor of the old NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD movies, which it most closely resembles. Even fans of the horror genre may find this movie unappealing. One can only hope. Furthermore, the movie takes a Romantic, pro-environmentalist, over-the-top approach to its material. Human society completely pollutes nature, it suggests, and there may only be hope when all the people are dead. Of course, the real pollution is the mental and spiritual pollution that comes from watching this story play out. The best part is the end, when it comes to a stop.
