Chris Rock Joins Many Other Celebrities Speaking Out About the Negative Effects of Porn

Comedian Chris Rock became one of the most recent celebrities to reveal a past addiction to pornography.

In recent comedy routines, Rock discussed his divorce to ex-wife Malaak Compton Rock to whom he was married for 16 years, but due to infidelity on Chris’s part, and other issues, couldn’t reconcile.

According to Inquisitr, “Rock joked about his porn addiction causing him to be 15 minutes late everywhere he went, and how the addiction to porn negatively affected him in other ways. . .. Rock spoke about porn causing him to not be able to look people in the eye and making him miss social cues. With therapy, however, Rock said he overcame his porn addiction.”

Another actor who also discussed their former addiction to pornography was Terry Crews, who made a series of videos talking about the issue, saying, “Pornography really, really messed up my life in a lot of ways.”

Actor Josh Radnor from HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER also spoke out stating, “There are those who say there’s no such thing as pornography addiction and that watching porn is harmless. History will not be kind to those people. They’ll be the doctors from the 50s in the cigarette ads.”

Former BAYWATCH and Playboy model Pamela Anderson shocked others last year when she co-wrote an op-ed with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, which states, that pornography has “corrosive effects on a man’s soul and on his ability to function as husband and, by extension, as father.” Anderson also called porn a “public hazard.”

Movieguide® commends these actors for their honesty and willingness to speak out on an issue that is either joked about, ignored or even encouraged in the entertainment industry.
