TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Celebrates 60th Anniversary By Returning To Theaters

By Movieguide® Contributor

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is celebrating its 60th anniversary by returning to the big screen for a limited time.

Turner Classic Movies and Fathom Events teamed up to bring TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD to theaters on November 13 and 14. In addition to the movie, the screenings will include behind-the-scenes details and insights into the making of the movie.

The Fathom Events website reads

Experience one of the most significant milestones in film history like never before with To Kill a Mockingbird. Screen legend Gregory Peck stars as courageous Southern lawyer Atticus Finch – the Academy Award®-winning performance hailed by the American Film Institute as the Greatest Movie Hero of All Time. Based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about innocence, strength and conviction and nominated for 8 Academy Awards®, watch it and remember why “it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.”

Movieguide®’s review of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD reads:

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is a masterpiece. The script is exceptional and should be a model of great scriptwriting. The direction is incredible. The acting is wonderful. Gregory Peck gives one of his greatest performances as Atticus Finch. Atticus in many ways represents a Christian. Also, the children themselves learn some valuable Christian lessons along the way. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is a timeless classic for older children and adults.

Screenings of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD will take place at theaters around the country. Check here to find a screening near you.
