GENERAL HOSPITAL star Carolyn Hennesy updated fans after undergoing two surgeries.

“Hello all, due to unforeseen circumstances, like a broken leg, my performance at Vibrato on November 5 has been postponed,” she posted on X on October 28. “We’ll git ‘er done just not on the 5th.”

However, Hennesy took to her Instagram stories to let fans know her injury wasn’t completely over and done with.

“Quick Carolyn update: first surgery went well and the second surgery is scheduled for Thursday. All thoughts and prayers are welcome,” she wrote

Hennesy hasn’t disclosed how she broke her leg but encouraged fans to guess, which led to some pretty hilarious tweets.

“Your hair got too long and it put too much pressure on your high heels that you collapsed learning that Dex and Sam are really alive!” one GENERAL HOSPITAL fan wrote

Another posted, “You broke your leg kicking Michael Corinthos…for going to Drew’s house the night he got shot.”

Hennesy has starred on GENERAL HOSPITAL since 2006, playing lawyer Diane Miller. While some might write soap operas off, the actress recently spoke about the real-world impact her character has had on viewers.

“What I have taken away personally is when young girls come up to me and say, I became a lawyer because of Diane Miller,” she said while on the red carpet at the Promise2Live 4th Annual Global Livestream Show.

Hennesy continued, “Soaps are extremely undervalued across the broad spectrum of entertainment except by the people who are the loyal families. They know, they understand, they get it, and they are some of the smartest people on the planet. They’re some of the most discerning, intelligent, educated, and loyal. And they love us and we love them because they keep us and we are there for them.”

The actress also spoke about the enduring legacy of GENERAL HOSPITAL in an interview with The Berkshire Edge.

“I honestly don’t see GENERAL HOSPITAL going anywhere,” she said. “I could be wrong about that, but I think that we are so much a part of people’s lives. We are sometimes more family than people’s biological family.”

Hennesy continued, “No matter what is going on in your life, you can turn on GENERAL HOSPITAL and the characters will still be there, living their lives. People can look at them and still live vicariously through them. Let’s face it, real life can be brutal, tough, and unkind. Daytime drama can provide a wonderful, almost healing respite.”

Hennesy’s fans around the world are wishing the actress a speedy recovery!
