Arnold Schwarzenegger Encourages Fans To ‘Be Useful’

Arnold Schwarzenegger is reflecting on his legacy in his new book, “Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life.”
“All I’m trying to do is just try to use my talents and help other people. It’s the simple stuff that I do that really helped me get where I am today,” the actor said in an interview with PEOPLE.
He continued, “I feel good where I am. I feel I’m much wiser. I’m much smarter. I’m not as crazy. I think more about people. I think more about people’s feelings. In your 20s, you don’t do any of that. It’s me, me, me, me. As time goes on, you learn from your mistakes.”
The actor encourages readers to “be useful” and find ways to help others, in big and small ways.
“I am only asking you to do for others what you are able to do…to be useful as often as you can,” Schwarzenegger said. “In every case, giving more will get you more.”
Schwarzenegger frequently shares advice for people looking to make changes in their lives. In a recent newsletter, the TERMINATOR star counseled readers to “be honest but not negative.”
“Negativity freezes you,” he wrote. “It makes you depressed about where you are instead of excited about where you can go. Lose the negativity (unless you are one of the small percentage where negativity actually fuels you).”

This can be both a pro and a con to the viewer’s experience. While there are elements showing problematic and sinful realities, there is also much to admire and inspire within the story.
