A THOUSAND TOMORROWS star Rose Reid is ready for the Movieguide® Awards!
“so excited to be headed to the @movieguide awards,” she posted on Instagram. “@colinfordand i were surrounded by such an incredible cast, production, and crew and I am so thankful for the experience! cheers @greatamericanpureflix.”
A THOUSAND TOMORROWS has been nominated for the Epiphany Prize® for Most Inspiring TV or Streaming Movie or Program, as well as in the Best Television for Families category.
Reid has also been nominated for the Grace Prize® for Most Inspiring Performance for TV for her role in the show. Costar Colin Ford is up for the same award.
A THOUSAND TOMORROWS, based on the book by Karen Kingsbury, “follows bull rider Cody Gunner and the enormous cost he would be willing to pay for a few seasons, or just a thousand tomorrows, with the person he loves more than anything,” per IMDb.
Part of Movieguide®’s review for episodes 4-6 reads:
Intense rodeo scenes, sweeping landscapes and poignant performances in A THOUSAND TOMORROWS make an exciting, heartfelt ride. However, the rodeo scenes sometimes seem repetitious in the final episodes. That said, A THOUSAND TOMORROWS has a strong Christian, moral worldview. Characters read Bibles, pray for one another, attend church, and reject ungodly actions. The episodes also celebrate godly romantic relationships and traditional marriage. Also, themes of forgiveness, self-sacrifice, sacrificial love, hard work, kindness, redemption, and hope permeate the story. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children because of scenes involving terminal illness, hospitals and death.
The actress spoke about A THOUSAND TOMORROWS to Christian Headlines, calling the show “a story of faith and a story of leaning into that even though it seems like all hope is lost.”
“And that even if [you think] you are beyond healing, the Lord can still heal you. And I really loved that idea,” Reid continued.
Movieguide® previously reported on Reid’s performance in A THOUSAND TOMORROWS:
Actors Colin Ford and Rose Reid recently starred in the Pureflix series, A THOUSAND TOMORROWS, based on Karen Kingsbury best-selling novel of the same name.
“I come from a very long line of Barrel Racers,” Reid said of her connection to the source material. “My grandmother was a Barrel Racer, my mom was a Barrel Racer, I got into barrel racing very young. So when I got the opportunity to work on this it just felt so perfect because I’ve done pretty much nothing but ride and Barrel Race all of my life.”
The cast said that the show reflects themes found in Kingsbury’s novel, like forgiveness, love, and faith.
“Through patience and sacrifice and constant faith, you can get through anything. I think that’s kind of the message of the story,” Ford said.
“Ali and Cody both pray for her healing and she is healed, just maybe not in the way they were expecting,” Reid added. “I think that that’s so powerful. I think that’s beautiful and something I really hope audiences take to heart.”
A THOUSAND TOMORROWS is currently available to stream on Pure Flix.
