NO ADDRESS Production Company Takes Homelessness Advocacy to the Next Level

By Movieguide® Contributor

Robert Craig Films’ new movie NO ADDRESS will release nationwide tomorrow, and the production house plans to do more than just bring awareness to the issue of homelessness.

NO ADDRESS follows “a group of individuals who unexpectedly fall into homelessness. They bond together as an unconventional family, struggling to survive on the streets while warding off a harassing gang, an unforgiving community, and local authorities.”

As part of the campaign for the film, Robert Craig Films pledged 50% of all of its earnings to homelessness in the United States.

According to PR Newswire, Robert Craig Films launched with The Big 5 GIVEBACK Campaign to donate to a “diverse range of organizations and churches nationwide that are tirelessly working to combat the homelessness crisis within their communities.”

The initiative raises awareness through “multi-platform storytelling to raise awareness and inspire action,” according to a press release. Along with the movie, Robert Craig Films offers a documentary titled AMERICANS WITH NO ADDRESS, a novelization of the NO ADDRESS script, an interactive study guide and a soundtrack.

“We see this partnership as an invaluable opportunity to convey our shared message to a broader audience. We unite in our common purpose of assisting those affected by homelessness in finding lasting solutions for housing and support services, ultimately empowering them to make a fresh start,” Robert Craig Films said in a statement.

Jennifer Stolo, CEO and producer of Robert Craig Films, added, “Buying a ticket to NO ADDRESS  is more than just watching a movie — it’s a purpose-driven purchase that directly impacts the lives of those experiencing homelessness. At Robert Craig Films, we believe in the power of film to inspire communities to take action. Together, we can break the no-address cycle.”

The documentary AMERICANS WITH NO ADDRESS released last October.

AMERICANS WITH NO ADDRESS is a well thought out, superbly executed, inspirational documentary that explores the homeless crisis in the United States. Despite increases in homelessness in recent years, government funding to reduce the number has increased by three times in the last 12 years. Clearly, government has failed to solve the problem. The filmmakers interviews dozens of people, including experts, government officials, homeless people, doctors, and charity workers. Many argue that government initiatives make the problem worse. The movie shows how nonprofit groups have banded together to fill the gap.

More than a million homeless people in the United States lack basic needs, self-worth, medical care, and a sense of community. Each person has inherent dignity, because every person is created in God’s image. The government may have failed, but private citizens have rallied to answer the call. AMERICANS WITH NO ADDRESS stands apart because it lays out the need, while also highlighting some solutions. However, the movie has plenty of disturbing content about crime, poverty, substance abuse, and mental illness. Strong caution is advised for pre-teenage children.
