Emma Stone loves being a mom to 4-year-old daughter Louise!
“There’s nothing I feel luckier about,” she told Vogue in a recent cover story. “She’s the greatest gift of my life, for sure.”
Stone even said she takes her daughter into consideration when it comes to choosing acting roles, because now, she has to decide whether the time away from Louise is worth taking the job.
“It’s streamlined everything,” she said. “It’s a clichéd thing to say, but it changes everything. And simplifies everything.”
Being a mother has made her a better actress, too, Stone explained, saying it “unlocks different things.”
“I don’t know if it’s specifically that, but I feel everything I could possibly feel, because everything has exploded,” Stone said.
Stone shares Louise with husband Dave McCarty, who she married in 2020. The couple welcomed Louise Jean, named after Stone’s great-grandmother Jean Louise, the following year.

She doesn’t typically speak publicly about their daughter, but at last year’s Oscars ceremony, Stone thanked Louise while accepting her second Oscar.
“I really just want to thank my family. My mom, my brother Spencer, my dad, my husband Dave, I love you so much,” she said. “And, most importantly, my daughter, who’s gonna be 3 in three days and has turned our lives technicolor. I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl.”
Around the time of Louise’s birth, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE Stone and McCary are “grounded and private” and both really wanted to start a family together. The source also shouted out the Oscar-winner’s ability to juggle work and motherhood.
“She is a professional who loves and breathes her work,” the source shared. “But if anyone can be good at both, it is Emma. She is a gifted person in every way.”
Stone and McCary are about to embark on a different kind of collaboration — The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed the couple are in talk to work together on an untitled project for Universal. Stone would star, while McCary would direct.
“Details about the project are being kept under wraps for now,” THR noted, but in the meantime, fans can catch Stone in BUGONIA, her latest movie. BUGONIA reteams Stone with director Yorgos Lanthimos, who directed her in POOR THINGS, which earned her her second Oscar.
From parenting their daughter to new creative projects, it looks like Stone and McCary are a true Hollywood power couple!
