Actor Chris Pratt took a moment to remind his fans of the reason for the Christmas season: Jesus’ birth.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” he began a recent Instagram video. “The joy, the family time, the presents. The cookies, of course…I don’t eat those anymore,” he joked.
The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY star continued on a serious note.
“The real reason I love Christmas is it’s so much more important. It’s because we are celebrating the greatest gift God has ever given us, and that is His Son, Jesus Christ,” he said. “I would love for you to join me and millions of other Christians around the world praying this year on Hallow. Together, we can focus on what’s important about this extraordinary season.”

In the caption of the post, Pratt shared more about his partnership with Hallow and how it will inspire you.
“The words ‘Be Still and Know that I am God’ are words I recite in my head every single day,” he wrote.
“And I’m excited this Christmas to help you bring those words into your own life as part of the @hallowapp prayer challenge leading up to Christmas, Be Still,” he revealed. “Starting today, I’ll be guiding you through this incredible book, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. Man, you guys, it’s so good. Our lives are moving so fast, we just need to take a minute, especially at Christmas, and focus on the reason for the season, which is for sure not cookies.”
Pratt has been increasingly open about his faith throughout the years, encouraging fans to deepen their relationship with God.
Earlier this year the 45-year-old told The Christian Post, “I care enough about Jesus to take a stand, even if it cost me. It could cost me everything, but I don’t care. It’s worth it to me because this is what I’m called to do, it’s where my heart is.”
He shared how he hopes to raise his four children to love Jesus as well.
“I’m a father of four. I want to raise my children with an understanding that their dad was unashamed of his faith in Jesus, and with a profound understanding of the power of prayer, and the grace and the love and the joy that can come from a relationship with Jesus,” Pratt said. “You don’t hear that a lot from people in entertainment, but it’s who I am. I’m not going to hide behind it. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”
This isn’t Pratt’s first partnership with the popular prayer app. Earlier this year, he joined the app for the Easter season, saying, “It’s been a game changer for me personally, diving deeper into the Bible and praying daily.”
