Tonies and Hasbro have teamed up to give three of the most familiar board games in America a screen-free reinvention.

“We’ve stayed true to our vision of audio-first storytelling, while introducing a new layer of interactive play that empowers kids to discover, imagine, and explore through Tonieplay,” said Tonies Chief Experience Officer Ginny McCormick when Tonieplay launched in 2025 — and the new Hasbro partnership puts that mission to work on titles every family already knows.

The new Tonieplay Hasbro Collection reimagines “Monopoly,” “Guess Who?” and “The Game of Life” as audio-guided interactive adventures for kids ages 1-9. “Monopoly” becomes “Monopoly Real Estate Rush,” “Guess Who?” gets a creature-themed spin in “Guess Who? Monster Mysteries” and “The Game of Life” arrives with its own Tonieplay edition — each one introducing new challenges and audio-driven twists while keeping the spirit of the original intact. All three work with the Toniebox 2 and Tonieplay Controller, and kids can play independently or alongside the whole family.

Movieguide® first covered Tonies in September 2025 when the company unveiled the Toniebox 2, highlighting it as a strong option for parents trying to reduce their children’s screen time. The Tonieplay gaming platform launched the following month and has since grown to include titles featuring PAW PATROL, WINNIE THE POOH, PEPPA PIG and GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE. Adding Hasbro’s iconic games brings Tonieplay its most recognizable lineup yet.

The concern driving demand for products like these isn’t going away.

“Children are spending more and more time on screens, for everything from entertainment to homework to messaging friends,” said Professor Michael Noetel of Queensland University in Australia. “We found that increased screen time can lead to emotional and behavioral problems, and kids with those problems often turn to screens to cope.”

That cycle is exactly what the Toniebox is built to interrupt. The device works by having children place a small collectible figurine — called a Tonie — on top of the box, triggering audio content tied to that character, whether that’s a story, a song, or now a full board game. The German-founded company has been in the U.S. since 2020 and has sold more than 9.5 million Tonieboxes and 125 million Tonies worldwide — proof that the screen-free pitch is landing.

The Hasbro partnership is a clever extension of that philosophy. Rather than a digital MONOPOLY app — which would only deepen the problem — Tonieplay keeps things audio-driven and hands-on. Children make choices and work through gameplay rather than watching content stream past, and that distinction matters more than it sounds.

For Christian families working to reclaim family game night, the Tonieplay Hasbro Collection offers something worth paying attention to. MONOPOLY and GUESS WHO? carry decades of goodwill; what Tonieplay adds is the ability to hand those games to a child without also handing them a screen.

The collection is available for pre-order now at Tonies.com for $24.99, with a free Tonieplay Controller bundled in. It officially launches July 7 and will also be available at Amazon, Walmart and Target.
