Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver and Super Bowl champion A.J. Brown shared a powerful video of himself praying to God.

“God, I know I’m walking into a new season where this is already mine. It’s already mine because I know what’s in my heart. I believe what’s in my heart, and I believe that you placed it in my heart, and I have been preparing for all my life,” Brown began to pray in a video with 3.4 million views. “I felt the chain break because I started to move different. I started to see different. I started to think different. I started to be different.”

“Right now, Father, what I’m asking you is to help me navigate through the new challenges that come with this new season that’s already gone,” the wide receiver continued. “Place forgiveness in my heart, when I see jealousy, when I see envy, when I get lied on, when I get backstabbed, place forgiveness in my heart, to not turn to wrath, but to turn to forgiveness.”

Brown, like all of us, recognizes that his sinful nature often fights against what he knows God wants from him.

“Father, add grace in those areas, because in those split moments, yeah, I’m human, you know, Father, I may think something, but I always come to you and say, ‘Lord, please remove that, because it’s not of You,'” he said. “Lord, you know our talks. I almost sound repetitive at times, but I’m asking for the same thing over and over again. So then I asked myself, what are you trying to teach me in this moment? Because you haven’t answered that prayer yet, but regardless of it all, I’m just trying to be obedient.”

Brown continued: “I’m just trying to live right for you, for you to help me continue to grow. Lord, I ask for guidance…Place your hand on me and my family. Father, I ask for leadership to help me lead better, speak better, listen better and be present wherever I need to present in a better form. Lord, help me lead with understanding.”

Last year, Brown helped his team gain another Lombardi Trophy.

“We’re just trying to get it done,” he told the media after the win. “Two Super Bowl appearances in three years is a blessing from God. We’re grateful, and we’re just trying to finish. You know, it don’t happen [easily]. Guys, don’t get to the Super Bowl, and we’re very blessed. We’re just trying to make the most of it.”

No matter the outcome of a game or season, though, Brown’s focus stays on Christ.

“I play for God,” he said previously. “I don’t play for expectations of man. I play this game because God has given me the ability to play this game, and doing my best is giving my due diligence back to Him.”

Like Brown, we should seek Christ’s guidance every day.
