It’s official — the Dude Perfect team just made their theatrical debut with DUDE PERFECT: THE HERO TOUR.

“I would say it’s actually pretty dramatically different from the YouTube shows in a really fun way,” Coby Cotton told Movieguide®. “People who have come to one of our live shows will find it very familiar. The problem we were hoping to solve for is that, yes, we’ve been making these YouTube videos for 16 years, so fun, [but] we wanted to give somebody something that they could tangibly experience.”

Dude Perfect began with “Five dudes,” — Tyler Toney, Cotton, Cody Jones, Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert — “a camera, and a friendly bet.” Since then, their trick shot YouTube channel has skyrocketed in popularity, and the best part is they’re all about “giving back, spreading joy and glorifying Jesus Christ.”

“So we started five years ago, the Dude Perfect Live tour,” Cotton continued. “And to be completely honest, we’ve just been blown away by the response we’ve had. Each summer, over 200,000 people come to those shows, and they started in these college basketball arenas, and now we’re doing shows in basically, in pretty much only NBA arenas, and there’s anywhere from 8 to 12,000 people who will show up to a sold out show at an arena.”

“That size and the energy and excitement is just it’s incredible, and it’s been so much fun for us to be a part of that and to see the reactions of families live and in person, instead of just reading YouTube comments,” he emphasized.

The DUDE PERFECT: THE HERO TOUR is “full of action-packed battles, classic Dude Perfect segments, and exclusive backstage access. Even if you have been to the show, you’ve never seen Dude Perfect like this!” its synopsis reads.

It is directed by Steven Lester, produced by Harrison Ross, Ryan Britton, Chad Terrell and Tim Holt and executive produced by Matt Deimund.

“It is truly a privilege to work with these guys, because they’ve got such creative vision and have such a history, obviously, with the brand and knowing how to engage with fans,” Deimund told TheWrap. “We spent a lot of time working with them on what should the movie feel like. What should it feel like to someone who’s already seen the show and they’re watching it and kind of reliving their experience? How do we give them some new things along with the nostalgia of how fun it was when they saw the show live?”

The film arrived in theaters over the weekend.

“It’s go time! DUDE PERFECT: THE HERO TOU is OUT NOW on a big screen near you 👀… LOCK IN and get your tickets today,” Dude Perfect shared on Instagram.
