The stars of the GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE: THE MOVIE shared their favorite parts of the project, from celebrating creativity to showing strong family relationships on screen.
“I think my favorite part of being Gabby is her positivity and just getting to play with my friends and show other kids and the GabbyCats how to have fun and think creatively,” Laila Lockhart Kraner, who plays Gabby, told Movieguide®.
Kraner also spoke about the relationship between Gabby and her grandmother, Gigi, played by Gloria Estefan.
“My grandma is someone very special to me,” she shared. “Me and Gloria, we connected really nicely when we first met…I think the connection really shined through the screen, as well.”
Estefan praised the onscreen bond shown between Gabby and Gigi, saying she and her grandson “have a really special relationship.”

“I thought, ‘What a beautiful thing to celebrate that relationship in this movie,’” she continued.
GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE: THE MOVIE continues the adventures of Gabby and her cats, who were introduced in the 2021 series GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE.
A description of the movie reads, “Gabby and Grandma Gigi’s road trip takes an unexpected turn when Gabby’s prized dollhouse ends up with eccentric cat lady Vera. Gabby embarks on an adventure to reunite the Gabby Cats and retrieve her beloved dollhouse before it’s too late.”
“It’s a lot of fun. The little kids are going to stay entertained,” Kraner told The Hollywood Reporter of the movie. “They’re going to be able to sing and dance. But I also think there’s going to be a lot for everybody. Even older members of the family, the parents, too.”
She continued, “There’s a lot of funny comedy for everybody, and there are a lot of good messages that I think apply to all ages about keeping the magic of play alive. I think that’s something important for little kids to hear, and also for adults to hear. So it’s a lot of fun for the whole family.”
Kraner also encouraged audiences to participate in the movie’s singing and dancing, saying, “I hope everybody gets dressed up and brings their cat ears.”
“It’s supposed to be a fun and inclusive movie experience,” she added. “The viewer has always been part of the story with Gabby and that’s even more important in this movie. We want you to laugh and dance with us.”
