Seattle Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco became the hero over the weekend as he delivered some of the biggest hits in franchise history.

Sports Spectrum reported that on Friday night, he scored a “walk-off single in the 15th inning to send Seattle to the American League Championship Series.”

Then on Sunday, “Polanco drove in runs from both sides of the plate as the Mariners went into Toronto and took Game 1 of the ALCS,” Sports Spectrum said. “His two-out hit in the sixth inning brought home Julio Rodriguez for what turned out to be the decisive run in a 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays.”

Polanco did it again on Monday night when he hit his third home run of the postseason and secured another game-winning RBI.

In an interview with MLB Network Radio on Monday, the athlete spoke of his time in the postseason thus far.

“It’s been an honor for me to be part of this postseason,” he said. “A dream come true, playing in these types of games. I just feel really good, feel really, really grateful to [be] delivering in those moments.”

Polanco is the second player in franchise history to “produce game-winning RBIs in two straight postseason games.”

“We never give up,” Polanco said after he was the hero on Friday night. “We just keep fighting. It doesn’t matter how many [games] we play. We just stay ready, just wait for the moment. It’s going to come. It was my time, but my teammates did a good job too.”

According to Herald Net, the Mariners “re-signed Polanco to a one-year deal to lengthen their lineup and fill a position of need. His 2024 season, Polanco’s first in a Seattle uniform, left plenty to be desired. But the front office and clubhouse knew a nagging knee injury was mainly to blame, as Polanco elected October surgery on his left patellar tendon. They believed in a bounce-back.”

Polanco couldn’t be more grateful to God for the opportunity.

“I’m very thankful,” Polanco shared. “Glory to God. He knows I wanted to be here. This is a special group. There are a lot of really good guys and really good people. I just wanted to be back here. I had a tough time [in 2024], and the team kept in touch with me. I am glad I am back here.”

Polanco and the Mariners took on the Blue Jays in Game 4 of the ALCS last night.
