Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond might make her cooking show at home, but did you know it’s not her actual home kitchen?
“The Lodge is a guest house on our ranch,” Drummond shared in a 2021 blog post. “And when we filmed the pilot for my Food Network show back in 2011, I decided to do it there.”
Drummond continued, “I often used The Lodge kitchen for events and gatherings [and] my house was full of kids at the time [we shot the pilot].”
She explained that, after the pilot for the show was picked up, she decided The Lodge’s kitchen “worked so well” as a backdrop for the show.
“My production team and I decided to keep filming there,” she continued. “The Lodge holds a lot of people, and working there also allows me to ‘go home’ at the end of the day and plop on the sofa.”

And for super fans of THE PIONEER WOMAN, The Lodge is actually available to tour.
“THE LODGE. Home of my cooking show and so many family memories through the years,” Drummond wrote in an Instagram post. “By popular demand, we have brought back free Lodge tours every day (except Sunday ⛪️) for the next couple of months.”
She added, “You’ll love walking through The Lodge at your leisure. She isn’t fancy but she sure is welcoming.”
Drummond might be hard at work in The Lodge’s kitchen filming her show but don’t expect any more cookbooks from the Pioneer Woman.
“[‘The Pioneer Woman Cooks: The Essential Recipes’] is my ninth cookbook, and I had decided at a certain point that this would be my final cookbook,” she recently told PEOPLE. “I know that sounds sad and crazy, but I feel that I’ve kind of told the stories I want to tell with food, and I’m just going to keep making my favorite things.”
Drummond continued, “There’s been a development, and I will actually have a 10th cookbook, but that will definitely be my last.”
In an Instagram post about “The Essential Recipes,” she shared, “If I could sum it up in a simple phrase, it would be this: recipe bible.”
“It has been the hardest cookbook for me to complete because I care about these recipes SO much (I’ve made some of them for thirty years), and I couldn’t seem to stop perfecting, tasting, perfecting, tasting,” Drummond concluded. “I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I can’t wait for the pages to be sauce-splattered and dog-eared!”
Drummond might not film her hit show in her actual kitchen, but the beloved TV cook makes The Lodge’s kitchen seem like home!
