CCM artist Phil Wickham couldn’t wait to share a snippet of his new upcoming tune “Fear Has No Power.”
“I wasn’t planning on releasing new music,” the text overlay read on Wickham’s Instagram post. “But I can’t stop singing this one.”
The portion of the lyrics read:
The greater the storm
The louder our song will be
Battles may roar
But we sing from victory
Darkness may tremble

In his post, he shared that the passing of a friend was part of the inspiration of his newest song.
“Life has felt heavy,” wrote the “Battle Belongs” singer. “From the chaos, wars, and violence we see in the world to the personal pain of losing a childhood friend just days ago, it’s been a lot.”
“[The song has] been carrying me. It’s reminded my heart of what’s true,” he went on to say. “I stand on a rock that cannot be shaken. The victory has already been won.”
The Grammy-nominated singer continued in his post that the song serves a reminder “that in Jesus, we are more than conquerors.”
“The same God who stood with Daniel in the lions’ den, who walked with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego through the fire, stands with us now,” he added.
The video concluded with Wickham’s assurance that the song is in progress and will be released “ASAP.”
In addition to working on new music, he has been busy headlining the Air1 Worship Now Tour with Charity Gayle, Josh Baldwin and Benjamin William Hastings.
Following that tour, Wickham heads back to his hometown of San Diego for the SoCal Christmas tour with Jon Reddick.
“These nights are some of my favorites every year. Nothing like being home for Christmas and celebrating the birth of our Savior,” the 41-year-old posted.
The father of four not only lends his voice to song but for the character of adult David in the upcoming animated movie DAVID.
“I’m so excited I can finally talk about this!” Wickham posted.
“You guys, I have the honor of voicing the character of ‘Adult David’ in the upcoming film ‘DAVID’ that will be released in theaters on December 19th,” he shared noting that David is “one of his all-time heroes.”
Wickham fans who miss any of his goings-on this year can catch him on his Song of the Saints Tour next spring with fellow artists Tauren Wells and Jamie MacDonald.
