Spotify is about to bring some of its biggest podcasts to Netflix!

“Early next year, your favorite video podcasts are getting a bigger stage,” a press release from Spotify announced. “Spotify and Netflix are teaming up to bring sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime video podcasts from Spotify Studios and The Ringer to Netflix to complement the streamer’s existing programming and unlock new audiences and wider distribution for the shows.”

The release shared that “starting in early 2026 in the US,” select video podcasts will be available to stream on Netflix, “with more markets to follow.”

“This collaboration offers fans more ways to connect with the stories and voices they love. It’s a celebration of creators and a powerful step forward in how their work reaches the world,” the release concluded.

The sports shows featured include “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” “The Zach Lowe Show,” “The McShay Show,” “Fairway Rollin’,” “The Mismatch” and “The Ringer (F1, Fantasy Football, NFL, NBA).”

There are also culture/lifestyle podcasts included — “The Rewatchables,” “The Big Picture,” “The Dave Change Show,” “The Recipe Club” and “Dissect” — as well as true crime shows “Conspiracy Theories” and “Serial Killers.”

Lauren Smith, Netflix’s VP of content licensing and programming strategy, said in a statement, “At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members, wherever and however they want to watch. With video podcasts on the rise, our partnership with Spotify ensures we bring the full video versions of these top shows to Netflix and Spotify. From pop culture and lifestyle to true crime and sports, this curated selection of video podcasts adds fresh voices and new perspectives to Netflix, making our entertainment lineup more exciting than ever.”

“This partnership marks a new chapter for podcasting,” Roman Wasenmüller, VP, head of podcasts at Spotify, added. “Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences and giving fans around the world the chance to experience the stories they love and uncover favorites they never expected. This offers more choice to creators and unlocks a completely new distribution opportunity.”

Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos spoke about the streaming service’s interest in podcasts during a Q1 2025 earnings call.

“We’re constantly looking at all different types of content and content creators,” Sarandos explained. “The lines between podcast and talk shows are getting pretty blurry. We want to work with kind of great creators across all kinds of media that consumers love. And podcasts, to your point, have become a lot more video-forward.”

He added, “As the popularity of video podcasts grow, I suspect you’ll see some of them find their way to Netflix.”

With the massive success of video podcasts on YouTube and Spotify, it’s no surprise Netflix is adding podcasts to their catalog.
