While Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was heartbroken after his team’s Sunday loss to the Seattle Seahawks, he couldn’t wait to get home.

After congratulating the other team, speaking to the media and flying back to Los Angeles, he got to go see his kids.

Stafford’s wife, Kelly, shared two photos on her Instagram story that showed the athlete going into his daughters’ rooms to kiss and hug them.

“After leaving everything out on that field and coming up short, at 2:30 a.m., this was Matthew,” Kelly wrote in the caption of the first photo, per PEOPLE.

In the next slide, she wrote, “Donuts for the most supportive and resilient little girls.”

“Thank you for being such rockstars for me all season long! Y’all were the inspiration for Daddy’s incredible year! We [heart] you!!” Stafford wrote on the box of donuts he brought home for his four daughters, twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 7, and Tyler, 5.

Stafford had an incredible game against the Seahawks as he threw for 374 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions. It was a near-perfect night for him, aside from the 31-27 loss.

While the media wanted to know if Stafford plans to exit the NFL, he dodged the question.

“I can’t generalize six months of my life 10 minutes after a loss,” he said, per ESPN. “So, I appreciate the guys in this locker room a whole…lot. Everybody who helped me and helped our team be the success that we were this year. And that’s all I’ll answer for you.”

Three weeks ago, Kelly celebrated her husband’s incredible 17th season in the NFL.

“Year 17 regular season is complete. Never thought I would see the day I would go to every game and bring my daughters to 15 out of 17, but I’m so glad I did,” Kelly wrote alongside snaps of their family at the games. “What a season to witness in person. The passion for football it instilled in my daughters (now all of them want to play QB on a girls’ flag football team) is so fun to see, but also for them to start to understand how hard work and dedication pay off.”

“We all needed that lesson. Watching their dad fail, realizing it’s ok, and it’s how you respond to that failure that makes up who you are. Incredibly blessed to witness the man I love, with the girls I love, do the thing he loves most ❤️” she concluded.

Whatever Stafford’s NFL future holds, one thing is certain — he’s an incredible husband and dad to his four daughters!
