The Savannah Bananas baseball organization hosts weekly Bible studies for the players, and several of them recently shared what they learned reading Ephesians 2.

“That we are the physical dwelling place for the Holy Spirit,” Bradford Webb said, reflecting on Ephesians 2:20-22. “And that gives me a lot of drive to keep myself holy, to keep others around me holy. And then the one verse that is at the end of everything we read was that we are being made holy. It’s like an ongoing process. It doesn’t quit. So don’t give up. Keep going. Keep trying. And Grace saved us all and wiped our slate clean.”

“Grace saved us all and wiped our slate clean,” Bryson Bloomer added, pointing to verses 4-5.

“Accountability matters,” Zach Blankenship said of verse 21. “Find a partner, get with somebody that will hold you to the standard that Jesus sets for us as a community and as brothers. And there is hope in salvation through Jesus Christ. So find a partner, be accountable.”

Speaking about verses 8-9, Easton Parrish said, “The grace we’re given by God in this life and how everything has already been done for us. And that’s the beautiful thing about you know, following Christ is that that we were dead in our trespasses and that all has already been done for us to live now through Him, and His grace is what allows us to do that. So there’s not boxes we need to check or certain things we need to reach. It’s already been done for us, and that’s the grace of Christ. Jesus.”

Ephesians 2 includes many important verses about God’s love, mercy and grace and how a relationship with Christ changes us.

“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus,” verses 4-6 read

Fans love the Bananas’ commitment to faith and family. And while the organization isn’t specifically religious, owner Jesse Cole created the team as “an organization centered on joy and family-friendly entertainment,” Sports Spectrum said. In an environment like that, faith is sure to thrive.

“We committed to meeting every week, me and a couple of other believers on the team, so that we could have a Bible study and make that a regular part of our routine,” Coach RAC previously said of the team’s Bible study habit. “Especially given how much we travel, we’re not able to be rooted in a local church. That’s continued to grow and really be a blessing to everyone who’s a part of it.”

It’s so fun to get a peek into the Bananas, beyond the baseball and entertainment.
