Patriots rookie place kicker Andy Borregales can’t help but praise God as he heads to Super Bowl LX.
The athlete played a crucial role this season for the Patriots, with the most important kick coming in the third quarter of the AFC Championship game on Jan. 25.
Borregales had missed his previous two kicks in a cold, windy and snowy Denver. However, with 5:34 left in the third quarter, the rookie kicker hit a 23-yard field goal that would ultimately seal the win for the Patriots.
“GLORY BE TO THE MOST HIGH!” he posted after the Patriots 10-7 triumph over the Denver Broncos.

Borregales isn’t a fan of the cold weather, which means he’s grateful to be playing Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California. However, wind and rain might be a factor.
“Really just be aware of your surroundings — the weather, the wind, whatever it is,” the kicker told the “Patriots Unfiltered” podcast of how he approaches his play. “That’s something I can’t control. It’s not something that I can really plan or prepare for. I really just go up there and keep my same routine and just adjust to whatever temperature, weather, however it is.”
But no matter what comes his way, Borregales plans to stay grounded and keep his faith in God.
“Realistically, I just try to stay level-headed,” he shared in an interview a month ago. “Just stay neutral. Don’t get too high. Don’t get too low. I’m here for a reason. God put me in this position to showcase the blessings that He gave me. I’m just trying to be a blessing and go out there and do my job.”
According to Sports Spectrum, Borregales was “selected in the sixth round out of Miami in the 2025 NFL Draft, Borregales has quickly earned the trust of his coaches and teammates to come through in big moments. Earlier this year, he became the Patriots’ franchise leader in points by a rookie, surpassing legendary kickers Adam Vinatieri and Stephen Gostkowski. Borregales finished the year with 134 points (27-for-32 on field goals, 53-for-55 on extra points), good for seventh in the NFL.”

Borregales constantly uses his platform to share about his faith. He has Luke 1:37 written in his Instagram bio and often shares more verses in the captions of his posts.
“‘With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!’ Psalm 119:10. Grateful for another year! FOLLOW JESUS🙏🏽” Borregales wrote on Jan. 2.
Keep your eyes on Borregales as he plays in his first-ever Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
