Universal Destinations & Experiences just shared a few more exciting details about their kid-focused resort opening in Texas in 2026.
“Universal Kids Resort is an all-new theme park that inspires the unbridled creativity of kids through play, discovery and imagination in a way that engages the whole family,” Universal said on their website. “Opening 2026 in Frisco, Texas, this first-of-kind resort is specifically designed and developed for families with young children. Enjoy Universal Destinations & Experiences’ iconic brand of entertainment, adventure and fun, bringing to life beloved characters and stories in ways that will just wow the youngest theme park goers in a totally inclusive way.”
The resort will feature seven lands where “kids and their grown-ups can hang out with awesome characters, enjoy incredible rides and shows, discover interactive play areas and find moments of calm in sensory gardens. Our first theme park just for kids.”

The different lands include:
- DreamWorks Shrek’s Swamp: Guests can meet “Shrek and Fiona as they share their fairytale — or ogretale — love story. Splash around in this waterlogged paradise and discover fun at every turn.”
- Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom: Families will have the opportunity to dive into an “undersea adventure with Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and friends as you boat around Bikini Bottom — playing in SpongeBob’s Pineapple House and other locations from the show!”
- Illumination’s Minions vs Minions: Bello Bay Club: This will feature pure chaos as the “Yellow Minions try to tame their wild Purple counterparts at Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club — or choose a side and create even more water- soaked fun.”
- Jurassic World Adventure Camp: Kids will be able to roar “through the jungle on exciting new rides, get up close with baby dinosaurs and get ready for some fun and thrills at Jurassic World Adventure Camp.”
- DreamWorks Trollsfest: You won’t want to miss this land, either. It’s a “glitter-filled, ‘round-the-clock party where you can sing, dance and play along with Poppy, Branch and friends. Sing loud, shine bright and party on!”
- DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar: If you love kitties and adventure, this land is for you because “Kitty adoption day is in full swing in the village of Del Mar. Join the celebration for a meet and greet with DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots, rides and games, vibrant colors and festive foods.”
- Isle of Curiosity: Guests can begin their day at the “Isle of Curiosity: a perfect playtopia where you and your kid can roam, explore and buddy up with some of your favorite characters.”
