The Super Bowl halftime show isn’t known for its clean content, and this year looks like it won’t be any different, but what if you could tune into a family-friendly alternative?
Christian artist Cory Asbury pitched the idea to his social media followers in a recent Instagram video.
“What if we did an alternative, family-friendly halftime show for the Super Bowl? Every year, everyone is all up in arms about the performer for the halftime show, and I get it because nine times out of 10, it’s raunchy as heck. You’re seeing stuff you don’t want to see. You’re hearing stuff you don’t want to hear, especially for your kids,” Asbury asked in the video reposted by fellow Christian star Forrest Frank.

Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show on Feb. 8, 2026, at the Levi’s Stadium in San Fransisco. But like many other halftime performances in recent years, many viewers aren’t planning to watch with their kids.
“So what if we threw together an alternate show at a different venue with just the biggest Christian artists and glorified the name of Jesus on a gigantic scale at a gigantic level,” Asbury continued. “I’ve already talked to my boy Forrest. He is down to clown. He’s down to play music, is what I mean. Who else would you want to see there?”
“My vision is this: blow it up huge. Let’s get a stadium. Let’s go crazy while people are glorifying money and fame and sex and all kinds of stuff that we don’t want to see. We can lift up the name of Jesus,” Asbury concluded. “If you’re down, like this post, share it with your friends and suggest who you think should join us for this show.”
That video currently has over 6.2 million views on Instagram alone. Artists like Josiah Queen, Cain, Phil Wickham, CeCe Winans and more expressed interest in participating. Great American Family star Candace Cameron Bure commented, “We’d love to be a part of this!”
Should there be a Christian alternative half-time show?
Pro surfer Bethany Hamilton said, “Yesssss please 😍👏💯 y’all could get @beaverfleming and the @nitrocircus involved.”
Great American Pure Flix also got on board immediately and said, “Love this idea! Let us know how we can help.”
Asbury confirmed that if this idea did come to fruition, the show would air “live during the actual halftime show” and stream “directly to your TV/Phone.”
So will we get a family-friendly alternative to the Super Bowl halftime show? If Asbury and Frank have their way, we just might.
