Former BIGGEST LOSER host and soap star Alison Sweeney got candid about her move from California to Arizona to live a “normal” life.
“I mean, no [I don’t miss Hollywood],” Sweeney told Fox News Digital. “I miss my family. I love my family. I go to visit them all the time, but they’re not really in Hollywood or whatever. So, no, I am thrilled with my life. I love how normal it is.”
Sweeney began her career at 4 years old in a Kodak commercial. Since then, she continued to pursue a career in Hollywood and eventually landed her biggest role on the longtime soap opera DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
She admitted that becoming a child actor made her realize “that there’s always someone out there who is prettier and skinnier and fancier.”
Eventually, the actress found confidence without comparing herself to others, thanks, in part, to her family support system.
“I was really lucky. I’m from LA, so it wasn’t a big fish-out-of-water story, and my parents are super grounded and normal and real and tough and strict,” she revealed. “I was never left out on my own to figure that out. I was always really guided by my brothers and my parents, who were all very loving.”
Nowadays, Sweeney enjoys living a “normal” life outside of Hollywood as she prioritizes health as a busy mom.
“Everything you’re reading right now is people trying to be more healthy, people trying to understand their bodies better,” she said.”And one of the things I learned at THE BIGGEST LOSER is that you are getting signs from your body. Your body is trying to communicate with you. It’s trying to help you.”
“And if you’re listening to those signs, you can make a lot of better choices for yourself,” she continued. “Staying active is very important, I’m not going to knock that, but I do think nutrition is number one for your health, and eating well. I’m not really hip to the Hollywood scene, but what I noticed with moms I’m friends with and just other everyday women is just more awareness…that your nutrition can make a difference in how you feel and your health.”
Sweeney often shares her Arizona adventures on her social media page. In one post, she shared a picture with her husband, David Sanov, after they had just finished a round of golf together.
“I’m not sure I’ve gotten any better, but I really am enjoying spending a few hours out on beautiful golf courses like this one. Perfect beginning to our 4th holiday weekend,” Sweeney wrote.

While she doesn’t live in LA anymore, Sweeney still acts, most recently starring in Hallmark’s PIE TO DIE FOR: A HANNAH SWENSON MYSTERY, which premiered last month.
Sweeney, like other actors, ditched the hustle and bustle of life in Hollywood to build a home in Arizona, preferring the normalcy it brings so she can focus on her health, family and being a mom.
