Danica McKellar: ‘I’m Experiencing a Relationship With God and Jesus That I’ve Never Had Before’

WONDER YEARS star Danica McKellar got personal in a recent Instagram post where she opened up about her personal relationship with God.
“Hey everyone! I went live today to share the journey I’ve recently embarked on,” she captioned a lengthy video post. “I’m not here to preach, but I have so much love in my heart I just had to share what I’m experiencing, and to share a little why I believe it’s taken me up to this point to begin this journey.”
McKellar’s post continued:
In my life, starting in childhood, I had been made aware of all the hypocrisy in the various religions of Christianity, it being used for evil, power & control throughout history, and that had definitely biased me. But that’s just people, that doesn’t represent God’s actual love for us. And I can tell you I’m experiencing a relationship with God and Jesus that I’ve never had before, and it feels miraculous. And it all started one evening when I was struggling with the idea of forgiveness and DM’d my good friend @candacecbure about a passage from the Bible she had read on her instastories, and then she sent me a Bible, and invited me to church… I am wishing all of you the love & freedom I feel in my heart on this journey, and a beautiful Sunday!!
Many celebrities and friends offered their support in the comments, including actress Cameron Candace Bure.
“God’s love is bigger than any human love and when He sweeps you up in understanding how powerful it is, because He is, it’s undeniable,” she wrote. “Praying for you on your journey and relationship with Jesus my sweet friend. Ephesians 2:8-9.”
ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT correspondent Nischelle Turner also commented, writing, “Yes ma’am! I don’t preach to folks but I KNOW the power of the WORD and how God’s grace will deliver you! Bless you and praying for you on your journey! Here for you.”

Former THE WONDER YEARS actress Danica McKellar recently gave a shout-out to her sister in Christ and fellow actress Candace Cameron Bure.
In a recent Instagram story, McKellar thanked Bure for her “One Step Closer Bible,” which quickly sold out on Amazon at the time of its release on Feb. 19, 2021.
“Shout out to my wonderful friend Candice Cameron Bure,” the DOMINO MASTERS host said. “She sent me her ‘One Step Closer Bible,’ and it’s just beautiful. I got the gold one. It’s so awesome.”
McKellar, known for her roles in Hallmark Christmas movies, recently joined the up-and-coming family-friendly network GAC Family for an upcoming slate of movies.
McKellar confessed that she did not grow up reading the Bible but said that she is excited to explore the study of God’s word with the help of Bure’s notes.
“I will tell you, I have not had much of a Bible education in my life, a little bit here and there, but it’s not part of how I was raised,” she said. “I’m looking forward to learning more about it because Candice is a really awesome person and she’s got her own notes and things in here to kind of guide you through. Since I don’t know a lot about it, I’m looking forward to using it in that way. So thank you, Candice.”
