Danica McKellar is getting to fulfill a lifelong career dream in her upcoming holiday movie HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS?
“My Christmas movie this year is my twelfth Christmas movie that I’ve done, and the first one that I’ve written,” she told Fox News. “It’s called HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS?, and it premieres on December 13th on Great American Family Channel.”
McKellar continued, “It’s a story of a second chance at love at Christmas time, made possible only because I get amnesia, which I’ve always wanted to play a character who gets amnesia, I’m not sure why. That’s why I wrote this story, in fact.”
“I don’t remember him, or the fact that I never wanted to speak to him again,” she said of the movie’s plot. “Also, I play a real estate buyer who is in the process of buying his family’s inn, but I don’t remember that. So, as I’m recovering, I find out that they’re selling the inn, but they really don’t want to, and so I help them hatch a plan to save the inn from the big corporation, having no idea that I am that big corporation.”

McKellar called HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS? “a really fun story,” adding, “It takes a few things that we’ve seen many times, flips them on their head, and I think people are going to really love it.”
“One of the cornerstones of Great American Christmas is celebrating the legacy of family talent in our Christmas movies,” Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media, said in a press release about the movie.
He continued, “Our viewers love seeing beloved stars, like Danica McKellar and Jesse Hutch, who share the screen across generations and bring our heartfelt stories to life. It is a tradition that makes Great American Christmas feel like coming home for the holidays.”
McKellar has previously spoken about the popularity of Christmas movies, telling Fox News, “More than an escape, [the movie genre] provides a reminder of what human nature can be. We need that. We need that reminder. We need, yes, the feeling of comfort, but also ideas for how to move forward in a wholesome, earnest kind of way.”
She explained that, while viewers can see characters in “painful” situations,” they are also “pushing through and trying to make good choices along the way.”
“So that’s what we can model for people in the midst of just giving them, yes, comfort food around the holiday season, which it’s important to feel those warm and fuzzy feelings around the holidays,” McKellar concluded.
