For PROPERTY BROTHERS Drew and Jonathan Scott, their family bond strengthens their home renovation projects.
“[It’s nice] knowing that we’re not the type of people who have to see each other every day to know we love each other and we support each other,” Drew told WGXA News.
In a 2017 interview with RootsTech, they spoke about defying the old adage that you shouldn’t work with family.
“We have been proving them wrong for 31 years,” Jonathan said, pointing out that he and Drew have been working together since they were 7 years old.

Drew joked, “This is why family is important. You get them to help you with your business.”
The brothers put that bond to work in the latest season of their show DON’T HATE YOUR HOUSE.
“DON’T HATE YOUR HOUSE is probably the most relatable show on television, not only for people who own a home, people who are renting a home, people who are dealing with a frustration that they just can’t find a solution to,” Jonathan explained to WGXA News.
He continued, “Every time someone comes to us and says, ‘I know that there’s no way I can love this house again, I want to move on,’ and we’ll look at it, we’re like, ‘No, I actually think I know a solution for this.’ And you see it in the episode where it’s life-changing for these folks.”
In a recent interview with TV Insider, the Scott brothers opened up about the work that goes into their reality TV shows.
“A lot of people don’t realize when we’re shooting these shows, we have certain shooting deadlines,” Jonathan explained. “We want to turn around our edits and our deliverables, but we’re also following real stories of real life…There’s just as much uncertainty in when we’re shooting the shows and following the real story as there is on the scheduling side, and we’re trying to figure out the best time.”
Drew said, “We produce the shows that our fans are asking for to try and inspire them, whether it’s the homeowners we’re actually helping in the show or it’s the viewers. And we’re also airing in over 160 countries. It’s really cool to see how we can inspire people around the globe with what we produce.”
For the Scott brothers, working with family has only made their brotherly bond stronger — and pushed them on to major success in the world of home renovation TV.
