Fellowship of Christian Athletes Celebrates Over 51,000 Salvations This Year

Fellowship of Christian Athletes reported that its ministry has seen over 51,000 athletes find a relationship with Christ in 2023.
“As Christmas approaches, we have a wonderful gift to give to our coaches and athletes: the hope and truth of Christ through his everlasting Word!” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson, per Church Leaders.
“As we reflect on the birth of our Savior, we are reminded of what Jesus has done with FCA and are so thankful for the 51,730 student-athletes who came to know him this year through the ministry,” he added.
FCA is a “community working to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.” For many student-athletes, this is where they meet Jesus for the first time.
In addition to the 51,730 salvations in 2023, the FCA also gave out over 230,247 Bibles this year.
“For 69 years, it has been FCA’s priority to make Jesus known throughout the world,” Williamson said.
These decisions for athletes to form a relationship with Jesus came at on-campus ministry events, camps, Fields of Faith events and more.
Many professional athletes partner with and credit FCA for helping them solidify their faith. MLB star and FCA partner Evan Carter stood up for his faith by wearing a “Jesus Won” shirt to batting practice.
FCA shared, “Evan Carter gets called up by the Texas Rangers. That day, Carter wore a ‘Jesus Won’ Shirt Arizona FCA gave to the players during spring training. Carter later partnered with FCA Arizona to sell personalized shirts to help raise money for a great cause of his choice. This shirt has been a gateway to open up a conversation about Jesus and spread His name for the past few months. ‘Jesus Won’ is a great reminder for everyone.”
“’I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.’ – John 16:33 (CSB),” the post concluded.
Movieguide® previously reported on Carter:
…Carter donated all $70,000 earned from shirt sales.
In an interview with WJHL, Carter said, “My wife [Kaylen] came up with the idea, and the next thing you know, 50 days later, here we are presenting some really big checks to people. And just it’s unbelievable how many people have come together to help us out, and God works in mysterious ways, man. This is really cool.”
“It’s spreading throughout the whole organization,” Carter said of the shirt and the message. “People who have never really tried to be a part of the Christian faith or anything, or part of a group like that, saw the shirts and started asking questions. It’s just a great opportunity for us to kind of share our faith and spread the Word a little bit.”
