‘Jesus Won’: How Texas Rangers Rookie Evan Carter Proclaims His Faith

By Movieguide® Contributor

Texas Rangers rookie Evan Carter is sharing his faith on the practice field.

“Carter, 21, wore a T-shirt earlier this month boldly proclaiming his faith. The words ‘Jesus Won’ were printed in red and white on a blue shirt the young athlete sported during warmups,” CBN’s Faithwire reported.

The Texas Rangers organization shared on their Facebook, “Evan Carter has arrived,” with photos of Carter in his “Jesus Won” shirt.

One fan commented, “I don’t know who this kid is, but he is now my favorite Rangers player!”

Another fan wrote, “Carter has looked great on both defense and at bat. Excellent call ups!”

In an interview on 105.3 The Fan, Carter talked about his love of the game.

“It’s not worth doing if you’re not having fun,” Carter responded. “It’s definitely — it’s the job that you chose, so you better love it. I do. I love the game and I love playing, I love competing, so, really, it’s a joyful thing for me.”

In his fourth game with the Rangers, Carter hit his first-ever MLB home run, a moment the young center fielder would never forget.

Carter shared the moment he took the MLB field for the first time on Instagram.

Carter wrote, “9/8/23. Beyond blessed for this opportunity. Thank you to my amazing wife, and family for all of the support along the way and thank you to everyone who has reached out. This is just the start!”

Carter’s wife commented, “I couldn’t be more proud of you babe! You are the most amazing man, and I love you more than you will ever know! Continue shining your light, and just being you! I love this life, and journey with you!”

Carter’s manager, Bruce Bochy, spoke of the athlete on The Dallas Morning News.

“We’ve said, even going back to spring training, that the patience and discipline he had, at that time, as a 20-year-old, that’s not something that just happens,” Bochy said. “He’s worked at it. That’s what he does all the time. He tries to shrink the strike zone and make pitchers come to him. He doesn’t panic at two strikes. He just gives you quality at-bats. He’s advanced for his age. That’s why he is up here.”
