Disney Pixar’s HOPPERS holds tight to its No. 1 at the box office in its second week.
The animated movie made $28.5 million in its second weekend after its debut of $45.3 million.
Part of Movieguide®’s review reads, “Beautifully animated, HOPPERS tells a delightful, wacky, hilarious story with fun twists and turns. Despite some Romantic, environmentalist content, the movie ends up on strong morally uplifting notes. For example, it has some pro-life themes.”
“Also, the humans and animals decide to work together to create a paradise for both worlds. Finally, the story also promotes repentance from evil,” the review continues. “However, HOPPERS has some scary moments and creatures. There are some snakes, a friendly but menacing female shark, a large bear, and a chase scene with lots of peril.”

Largely due to HOPPERS, ticket sales are up by 15.2% from last year during the same period.
The HOPPERS stars recently got together to share their own “pond rules” — like some of their characters in the movie have.
“What are the rules for making a great Pixar movie?” asked Bobby Moynihan, who plays beaver King George.
“One of the main rules for making a phenomenal Pixar movie is having Daniel Chong at the helm,” said Piper Curda, who plays animal lover Mabel. “I mean, this wouldn’t be half the movie it is without him and his direction and his brain…I mean that’s the one of the keys to this movie.”
“We got to have tears, too,” said Dave Franco, who plays Titus. “Got to have ’em cry.”
Jon Hamm, who plays Mayor Jerry, joked, “Humor, honesty, heart, all the stuff that starts with H,” and the movie certainly has all of that.
HOPPERS hasn’t faced much competition from REMINDERS OF HIM, UNDERTONE or THE BRIDE! But an Amazon MGM sci-fi adventure starring Ryan Gosling, PROJECT HAIL MARY, may give it a run for its money.
Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, a middle school teacher turned astronaut. He’s pressed to rely on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to solve the riddle of a mysterious substance causing Earth’s sun to die out and meets an unexpected friend along the way.
PROJECT HAIL MARY is also going for all of those “H” words Hamm mentioned.
“We never understood why you couldn’t laugh and cry in the same movie,” Director Phil Lord told Movieguide®. “Every great drama I’ve ever seen makes me laugh. Every great comedy I’ve seen makes me cry. I weirdly don’t understand why they don’t belong together.”
“It’s part of the human experience,” Miller added. “We feel a lot of different things. We’re multitudes as people.”
PROJECT HAIL MARY comes out on March 20, 2026.
