How BRINGING UP BATES’ Lawson Bates Is Praying for Our Leaders

By Allyson Vannatta, Senior Writer

Country singer and BRINGING UP BATES star Lawson Bates shared how he’s praying for our nation.

The 28-year-old shared a photo of the verse 2 Chronicles 7:14.

In the caption of the photo he wrote, “Ephesians 6:12 reminds us as believers of a powerful and timely truth: “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

“Our personal hope, our culture’s hope, along with our Country and World’s hope is in Christ alone,” he continued. “Ronald Reagan summed things up well when he stated that, ‘If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, we will be One Nation gone under.’”

He ended by writing, “Tonight I’m praying for our leaders, for our world, and most importantly for each of our hearts to be open to God’s love and direction, because without Him, we are lost.”

Bates is very vocal on social media about his faith, often sharing scripture and even declaring that “Jesus is Lord” in one of his tweets.

Bates had faith instilled in him from a young age.

He previously told Movieguide®’s Evy Baehr Carroll about how his parents encouraged him to have a personal relationship with the Lord.

“We can’t just give you our faith and you say, ‘Oh, this is what our parents are this is what you are.’ You need to find that path on your own. You need to let God direct and lead you there,” he said.

Bates vulnerability in vocalizing his prayers and sharing his faith should encourage all believers to speak up more in this time of divisiveness because there’s unity in Jesus.
