New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry secured a new career-high a few weeks ago with 115 receiving yards — and then gave all the glory to God.

“I put a lot of work in. I’ve been incredibly blessed in this profession to be where I am,” he told the media in a post-game press conference. “God has extraordinarily blessed me — I couldn’t do it without Him. To be here, with this team, I take a lot of pride in it. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m excited for the journey ahead.”

According to Sports Spectrum, the Patriots were down 0-10 heading into the second quarter but “responded with a 28-yard touchdown to Henry on the next drive. New England grabbed the lead with a touchdown less than two minutes later and never relinquished it on the way to a hard-fought road win. For the day, Henry snagged seven receptions for a career-high 115 receiving yards and his crucial second-quarter touchdown.”

Henry often shares his faith on his social media page.

In one snap of him on the field, he wrote Hebrews 12:1-3 in the caption:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

In another post, Henry said, “Just out here having fun!” then referenced Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Henry and his wife, Parker, put their faith into action, partnering with the International Justice Mission to “protect people in poverty from violence.”

“We feel so honored to have been able to partner with @ijm and host Rally for Rescue in our community this week! From ping pong matches to powerful conversations, we came together for a cause bigger than us — bringing freedom to families around the world. Thank you to everyone who showed up and gave. Rally for Rescue was more than an event, it was a reminder of what’s possible when we come together,” the couple shared in a joint post on Instagram.

Praise God for how Henry uses his NFL platform to give glory to God.
