Scott Foley feels like IT’S NOT LIKE THAT didn’t get the run it deserved, and with an inexplicable cancellation, many others feel the same way.

“After six or so weeks in Prime Video’s Top 10 — I think getting as high as like three or four — really great reviews (I think we have like 100% on Rotten Tomatoes), our little show called IT’S NOT LIKE THAT has been canceled at Amazon Prime,” he announced in an Instagram video.

He took time to thank everyone who watched the show and expressed sadness that it got canceled despite the good ratings.

“I think I’m just disappointed, obviously, but I’m so grateful for the chance,” Foley said. “I got to make a show I’m so proud of with people I grew to like a lot, and now we don’t get to make it anymore, and you don’t get to watch it.”

The show follows a pastor and recently widowed dad of three and a newly divorced mom of two teens as they venture into single parenthood.

To the cast and crew, Foley said, “I loved making this show with you, and I would work with you again and again and again.”

Prime broke the news just six weeks after the series released globally, Deadline reported. Meanwhile, another show by Wonder Project, HOUSE OF DAVID, was renewed for Season 3.

Others, too, are astonished that Prime would cancel a show with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

“I’m really annoyed they canceled this one. It was so heartfelt and so well done, and really unique and needed since so much of what’s out there is dark and heavy and not hopeful in the slightest. Such a bad move on their part. 🥴,” commented author Courtney Walsh.

“Legit do not know what they want?!? This show is not only so good you could actually watch with YOUR FAMILY… Love to all the cast and crew – You made something beautiful and Entertaining too bad this industry is 🙃 ….😔,” another person commented.

TV Fanatic editor Jasmine Blu said there’s a deficit of family dramas that bring people together.

IT’S NOT LIKE THAT “was more than nice. It was refreshing and necessary, as it filled a void that we’ve been missing for a while. But inexplicably, we have a cancellation instead. And the worst part is that it’s nonsensical,” she said.

Cinema Blend’s Mick Joest chimed in, “IT’S NOT LIKE THAT will has reached its conclusion and, given its position on the streaming charts and its positive reviews, I’m wondering why.”

So, why did you cancel it, Prime? Now would be a good time to speak up.
