‘Life is Precious’: Jamie Foxx on New Appreciation for Life After Health Scare

By Movieguide® Contributor

Jamie Foxx has a renewed appreciation for life following last year’s health scare.

“I’ve learned that life is precious, which is why it’s so important for us to go after what we want,” the actor told Fox Business.

Movieguide® previously reported on his health issues:

Jamie Foxx suffered a medical complication on April 11th and remains in the hospital.

Foxx’s daughter Corinne also posted on her Instagram account, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

As Foxx returns to the public eye, he has also teased some new projects, including a return to stand-up comedy.

“Going to get on somebody’s stage somewhere near you. I got some jokes, and a story to tell…” the actor posted on Instagram.

In a speech given earlier this year, Foxx elaborated on his plans to detail his health issues through stand-up.

“Everybody wants to know what happened, and I’m gonna tell you what happened, but I got to do it in my way,” the actor said while accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements.

Foxx will also return to co-hosting BEAT SHAZAM alongside his daughter Corinne. He also serves as an executive producer on the game.

Foxx has spoken about how his faith helped him recover. Movieguide® previously reported:

Jamie Foxx directly addressed fans for the first time since his health scare in April, explaining that he didn’t want fans to worry about the state that he was in.

“I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back,” Foxx explained on Instagram. “I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through.”

“Thank u a billion to everybody…been a long road but all the prayers, great people and God got me through,” he wrote in the caption.
