Jamie Foxx Breaks Silence on Health Scare: ‘God Got Me Through’

Jamie Foxx directly addressed fans for the first time since his health scare in April, explaining that he didn’t want fans to worry about the state that he was in.
“I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back,” Foxx explained on Instagram. “I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through.”
“Thank u a billion to everybody…been a long road but all the prayers, great people and God got me through,” he wrote in the caption.
The actor explained that he kept his fans in the dark about his condition because he “didn’t want them to see [him] like that.”
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show,” he explained. “I just didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
Foxx praised his daughter and sister for keeping his health private throughout the scare.
“They didn’t let nothing out,” he said. “They protected me.”
The Oscar winner also dispelled rumors that arose because of the privacy during his recovery.
Although Foxx had been spotted in public multiple times recently, some fans still promoted outlandish claims, saying the actor had died and was being replaced by a look-alike.
Other fans claimed that the actor had been blinded or paralyzed during his health scare, something Foxx directly addressed in his update, noting that that never happened. Although, he did note that his “road to recovery had some potholes…but I’m coming back, and I’m able to work.”
Foxx wrapped up his update with heartfelt gratitude for his fans.
“I just want to say that I love everybody, and I love all the love that I got,” he concluded. “I am on my way back.”

Fox News Digital reported Porscha Coleman who spoke with Entertainment Tonight and stated, “I’ve talked to people very close to Foxx, [he] is doing well.”
“One thing about Jamie is that he’s always valued his privacy,” she continued. “If you’ve noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low,” she added.
She continued, “Even when it came to dating, Jamie’s always been private, so it never surprised me. Once I heard the news, of course, I reached out, but how Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it. He’s resting, he’s well. And he’s going to be back. Trust and believe.”
