Christian artist Katy Nichole doesn’t hold anything back in her latest album, Honest Conversations.
“This record was so therapeutic for me to write,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “As I was walking through complicated seasons and storms of intense emotions, I had my release by getting to write these songs.”
Nichole shared that she’s always “been a verbal processor,” and singing was a way to calm herself down in stressful times.

“Music has always been the way to reach me when nothing else could — I’ve found God in music, time and time again. Sometimes a lyric felt like the voice of God directly piercing my heart and soul,” she continued.
The singer-songwriter wrote, “My hope for this album is that it meets you where you’re at and reminds you that you don’t have to do this alone. If you have ever felt misunderstood, I hope these songs make you feel seen, if you have ever felt doubt, I hope this leads you to bring the good, the bad, and everything in between to God, and lastly, I hope these songs feel like a warm hug when you need it the most. Honest conversations with yourself, with God, and with others are the first steps towards healing.”
“Thank you for being part of this journey with me, I pray you find God as you listen to these songs,” Nichole concluded.
The artist spoke to K-Love Radio about the new collection of songs, explaining, “I am so excited about the songs that I have released…when I think about the writing process, [the songs] were very real and honest and vulnerable.”
“I think that honest conversations are so important and they need to be had. I wanted to write about honest conversations with ourselves, with the Lord, and with others,” she continued. “Because I just think that things start to change when we have honest conversations.”
In another Instagram post announcing the project, Nichole wrote, “Music is a universal language, and I feel as though it gives us a safe place in some of our darkest moments. Music has saved my life on multiple occasions. Why? Because the Lord gets me better than anyone else and He knew that I needed a song when nothing else could reach me.”
“Sometimes a word or melody meets us exactly where we are at when we need it the most,” she continued. “When I started songwriting, I knew that I wanted to write songs that meant something. Even if it was just one person it impacted, then it was all worth it.”
Nichole concluded, “I hope these songs meet you where you’re at and start your healing journey. In whatever season you’re walking through, just know, you’re never walking alone.”
With Honest Conversations, Nichole is getting more vulnerable than ever and encouraging her fans to have their own honest conversations with others — and themselves.
