Jamie Foxx Spotted in Public First Time Since Health Scare in April

By Movieguide® Contributor

Jamie Foxx was spotted in public for the first time since his health scare at the beginning of April.

The star was seen boating on the Chicago River, smiling and waving to fans who were calling out to him.

“Boat life,” he tweeted Sunday evening, his first tweet in months. “Celebrating summer with @brownsugarbbn. Stay blessed!”

Foxx was hospitalized at the beginning of April for an unidentified health issue. During the health scare, Foxx’s family took to social media, asking fans for prayers. Once he had recovered, they shared their gratitude for all the support they received.

“Due to quick action and great care, [Jamie] as already on his way to recovery,” the family said at the end of April in a since deleted Instagram post. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers.”

“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” Foxx posted to Instagram at the beginning of May.

According to his daughter, Jamie has since been spending time with his family as he continues to recover from the event. A months-long social media blackout, however, has caused many fans to concern about the actual state of his recovery.

The public boating and social media post should set many fans’ minds at ease as they now have visual proof that he is truly on the road to recovery.

Movieguide® previously reported on Foxx’s health scare:

Fox News Digital reported Porscha Coleman who spoke with Entertainment Tonight and stated, “I’ve talked to people very close to Foxx, [he] is doing well.”

“One thing about Jamie is that he’s always valued his privacy,” she continued. “If you’ve noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low,” she added.

She continued, “Even when it came to dating, Jamie’s always been private, so it never surprised me. Once I heard the news, of course, I reached out, but how Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it. He’s resting, he’s well. And he’s going to be back. Trust and believe.”
