While many celebrities have made headlines for leaving the chaos of Hollywood — one actor says it’s his home and he wants to change it for the better.

“I’ve been here for 40 years. Like, it’s an unlikely sort of love affair I have with this town. I’m not crazy about it,” Kelsey Grammar told Fox News Digital. “But I also love it. So I’m doing my best to kind of lift my heart to take each day as the gift it is. So what, LA’s a little challenging. Well, it’s like we got nincompoops running things. It’s life, it’s the way it is.”

Many of Grammer’s fellow actors agree that LA is a challenging place to live, but rather than say they choose to leave. Mark Wahlberg, for example, left the city in 2022 so his children could grow up in a more normal environment.

“I want to be able to work from home,” Wahlberg explained. “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there. So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”

Since moving, Wahlberg has been the heart behind an effort to create a new Hollywood in Nevada which would give the entertainment industry a fresh start away from the craziness of LA. Among his supporters is Mel Gibson who has shared just how difficult it has become to create a movie in Hollywood.

“I had to shoot a film for one day in LA, and it was cheaper for me to take the whole crew and fly them to Europe and shot for three days, lodge them, fly them, everything, than it was to shoot one day just down the road,” Gibson explained. “So, there’s something really wrong there.”

Nonetheless, as LA remains the main hub of entertainment production, faith-based media is certainly on the rise in recent years, proving that the Lord is able to move anywhere and everywhere. Jon Erwin’s Wonder Project studio, for example, has found extreme success and was created in partnership with Amazon who now hosts the studio’s streaming platform.

While it still makes sense for many actors to leave L.A. once they have the means, it is also important to have people like Grammer who stay and fight to redeem the city, rather than allow it to continue to get crushed under the follies of this world.
