BEN-HUR is very exciting, especially the sea battle and the chariot race, but turns the message of the good news of salvation into a lesson about forgiveness… THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, the 2016 remake of the iconic 1960 western starring Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen, envisions the seven gunfighters fighting to protect a town of farmers from an evil mine owner trying to steal their land. This new MAGNIFICENT SEVEN has a surprising amount of overt Christian references, but it emasculates the heroism of the 1960 classic movie and adds an even higher body count and too many strong profanities, so it’s not as enjoyable as the original… FRANTZ is a French movie about a young German woman grieving over her fiance’s death but who is uplifted when she meets a mysterious Frenchman at the gravesite.
