Grant Troutt won’t watch his wife Madi Prewett Troutt’s season on THE BACHELOR because he want to know her for who she is, not what she was like on the show.
“I just had never seen [THE BACHELOR], and then when I came to meet her and she started telling me about all THE BACHELOR stories, I was just like, I want to know this Madi right here,” Grant explained. “And so, I don’t think she’d want to go see my ex-girlfriend moments, you know what I’m saying.”
“So, I was just like, I don’t think it’s beneficial for either of us. Let’s just start here, but tell me all about [your time on the show]. I want to know,” he continued. “And it was a really hard time for her. I mean, you sign all these things with THE BACHELOR that you can’t say publicly, but it’s like, there’s just really hard things that you go through on that show. And so, I think I saw someone that had some scars. And so I was like, hey, I just want to know this Madi.”
After getting set up on a blind date, both felt they had met their future spouse from the start, largely because of the other’s passion for Christ and sharing the Gospel.
“I remember sitting there and this woman – I’ve never in my life seen someone with so much passion and care and love for God, [who] just knows what she was created to do,” Grant recalled. “I think there’s a lot of times where I’m like, I would drive the conversation like I would typically be in control of the conversation, and I remember being like… wow, this girl is asking me questions, and she’s killing it, she is thriving.”
While the couple finds immense joy in their relationship, they also remain centered on Christ and encourage others to pursue the Lord wholeheartedly and find their worth in Him, rather than in another person.

“I felt like my purpose was put on hold. I felt like I was waiting for someone else to satisfy me,” Madi said about how her life felt when she put pursuing a relationship above the Lord. “It was in that moment where God just spoke to me and said, ‘Madi, you’re looking for all the right things in all the wrong places. You’re trying to find what you’re looking for in another person, and it can only be found in me.’”
The couple have been married for three years and are now new parents to their daughter Hosanna. Meanwhile, they continue to boldly share the gospel and bring the good news everywhere they go.
