After a devastating fire almost took out the entire property, HOME TOWN stars Erin and Ben Napier have provided an update on the renovation of The Heirloom hotel.
In an interview with USA Today, Erin and Ben confirmed that HOME TOWN will officially air on January 4, 2026. However, The Heirloom won’t make its debut until later on in the show.
“The episodes are going to air,” Ben shared, before adding that they will probably air “later” in 2026.

“This was their baby,” Erin said of her three friends. “To watch them give their all − and I really mean give their all to create this masterpiece − and then to watch it burn together, was devastating.”
On August 26, Napier shared on Instagram a photo of the hotel, which could be seen on fire.
“After so much celebration last week, today my best friends @malraz, Jim, and @joshuanowell lost their labor of love, their dream, @theheirloom.us hotel in an early morning fire,” Erin wrote in the caption. “Before they ever even welcomed the first guest. Praise God, no one was inside. We held each other and watched while the brave firefighters from the Laurel FD worked for hours to get it under control.
“Today feels like a funeral. But I know these people. They won’t give up here,” she continued. “I don’t know what will happen next or if you’ll ever get to see this @hgtv show now. I don’t know much of anything. Pray for my friends and family, please. It is hard to explain how this reverberates through our town and its progress in many ways. But I know God has a plan for this setback. He always knows the way, even when we don’t.”
Despite the massive devastation, the Rasberrys and Nowells have shown grit and perseverance.
“They’re still somehow finding a way to keep looking at the next steps and (asking), ‘Where do we go from here?’” Erin shared. “And I don’t know where they’re going to go, yet. But, man, I’m proud of them. I think − even though it didn’t go the way we all were expecting and hoping and excited about − if you want to see human endurance and the spirit of we can do hard things, it is going to be that hotel series.”
Season 20 of HOME TOWN will premiere Sunday, January 4, on HGTV. The Napiers are excited to still be able to debut their friend’s property, The Heirloom, despite almost being destroyed by a massive fire.
