Jenny McCarthy says her relationship with God is “very deep” since Charlie Kirk was murdered.

“Some people have to work really hard to hear him,” McCarthy said recently on the Culture Apothecary podcast. “I’ve got a direct line. I mean, Jesus is my homie.”

She said she “completely surrendered” to Christ after Kirk’s murder.

“It was so sad because the work he was doing was so good,” she said. McCarthy added “a certain group of people … were fed only one narrative of Charlie. If you know what Charlie was doing, you would know it was such a gift.”

She relates to Kirk because she has also received threats and needs the “armor of God” to continue speaking publicly, The Christian Post said.

After Kirk’s murder, “I was so broken. I prayed and prayed and prayed, and then I was calling like every doctor I possibly could, saying, ‘Tell me that this wound is something that could be healed,’” she said.

Eventually, she figured it out.

“With every horrible thing, if you find the good, it can help you move forward,” McCarthy said. “Look at the mass awakening. Look at how many people came closer to God, even including myself.”

The former Playboy Playmate “started Bible study immediately” following Kirk’s death. She and her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, “have become devout since Charlie’s passing.”

She believes that Kirk changed the world for the better.

Chris Tomlin, who led worship for Kirk’s memorial service, said, “There’s a hunger I haven’t felt in a while. People are coming hungry, wanting to connect with God. There’s no playing games anymore. It feels like we’re in a real moment, an awakening.”

“I’ve been out on tour since the memorial, and I really haven’t stopped,” he said. “But every night, it feels like people aren’t coming for a show; they’re coming desperate to encounter God.”

Before he died, and in a way, after he died, Kirk impacted many for Christ.

MMA fighter, Cage Fury Fighting Championships COO and former atheist Jason Lederfine said he came to Christ after he saw a video of Kirk sharing his joy in his relationship with Christ.

“I wanted to feel that joy as well, and God didn’t hesitate to take the opportunity to let me know he is real. Charlie was able to get me to believe when no one else could, and trust me many have tried,” he wrote on Facebook in September.

“I wanted to meet Charlie to let him know to never give up, because if my heart can be changed I believe anyone’s can. That will now never happen, but when I pray please know I will be thanking Charlie,” he said.

The Washington Stand reported on Sep. 16 that Kirk’s life is encouraging a movement of new believers.

“People are confessing, ‘I’ve never been to church, but I’m feeling a pull to attend a Sunday service.’ Friends and family have shared with me that their churches were overflowing this past Sunday, a phenomenon echoed nationwide,” said Washington Stand reporter Sarah Holliday.

“Alongside this, lifelong atheists and skeptics are turning to prayer and seeking out Bibles. Even those once aligned with the Democratic Party or liberal ideologies are declaring, ‘No more,’” she wrote.

These testimonies prove Kirk’s life and death continue to draw people toward faith, prayer, and a renewed search for God.
