Sadie Robertson Huff Shares the Secret to Launching Ministry

By Movieguide® Staff

Author and speaker Sadie Robertson Huff recently addressed college students at UGA Bulldogs on a tour with Passion268—the organization that hosts an annual Passion Conference.

In a segment of Huff’s speech, the former DUCK DYNASTY star addressed a popular question among college-aged students: How do I get involved in ministry?

“People always say to me, they say ‘I want to do ministry, I feel called to ministry, how do I start doing ministry?’” she said. “I always say to them, and this is going to sound super simple, but, ‘you just start doing ministry.’”

“There’s nothing to it, because ministry is not a stage, because ministry is not a platform, because ministry really isn’t even a job title,” the 25-year-old continued. “Ministry is who you are, it’s what you are, and it’s where you are. Get this, no matter how you are, what you are, or where you are, it’s always happening. It’s always before you.”

While Huff recognized her unique platform that God has given her, she stressed that ministry should not start and stop with what is said on stage.

“My ministry moments, for me, better not just be moments on the stage,” she explained. “It better be the moments in the grocery store. The moments with my friend group, who I have over at my house on Wednesday nights, that’s where ministry happens.”

She added: “It’s not just for them, it’s for me. Jesus is in wherever I go, so wherever I go there is a moment for ministry because Jesus is with me… every moment is a moment for ministry.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Huff’s call to ministry:

Sadie Robertson Huff recently shared a video of her sermon at Christ Church LA this week, reminding listeners about the promises of God.

“[He] promises if you stumble, you will not fall,” Huff said. “You’ve been saved by grace. Your sins are forgiven. You are redeemed.

“If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed,” she preached. “He says ‘If you ask for wisdom, I will give it. I am love, I am truth, I am joy. I am all these amazing things. This is what He promises.”

Huff continued, “What He promises and what I notice when I’m reading the promises of God is the promises of God are way more to do with who God is than what He can give you. See, what God promises to us is not things that He can give you. God promises Himself to us. God gives you Himself.”

“You don’t need Him to do a single thing [other] than what He has already done,” Huff concluded.
