SISTER, SISTER Star Says God ‘Offers Help’ to All of Us

SISTER, SISTER star Tamera Mowry-Housley recently shared a verse about God’s guidance for Mother’s Day.

In Psalm 32:8, God says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

“There are a lot of similar words there: instruct, teach, counsel, but when you slow down, they all feel a bit different,” Mowry-Housley said. “When I instruct my children, I tell them my expectations, setting boundaries and laying out rewards and consequences.”

She emphasized how God does all three forms of guidance for his children’s benefit.

“His counsel isn’t one size fits all,” she explained. “I love this. I love that it’s personal. It’s attentive.”

Mowry-Housley knows that she often needs his guidance as his daughter in Christ.

“It’s the help he offers to each of us,” she explained. “Remember today that God’s loving eye is on you and he is personally leading and guiding you.”

She added in the caption, “I loved joining up with @YouVersion and @Compassion to share the verse of the day this Mother’s Day. If you’re a mama doing your best to nurture faith in your kids, remember that God’s loving eye is on you.”

Her followers thanked her for her encouragement and praised her partnership with YouVersion and Compassion.

Another wrote, “Amen! Your sensitivity to the things of the Spirit is evident! May God continue to reveal Himself to you more and more every day!! In Jesus name!! 🙌🏽”

She also shared another post for Mother’s day about the joy she feels being a mom to her two kids.

“I love being a mama and… feel [honored] to share this journey with my two children. You two are amazing lights in this world and I’m forever grateful for the lessons you both are teaching me—both beautiful and challenging. You two are the greatest gifts I could ever ask for,” Mowry-Housley wrote alongside family photos. “This weekend, and every day, I hope all of you moms feel deeply loved, celebrated, and appreciated for everything you do. 💐”

She recently shared that she thought being a good mom meant doing things “right,” but then she realized that it’s better to go to God and pray than to strive for perfection.

“The REALity of mom life is that I’m serving God right where I am by how I love the people in it,” she said.

As Mowry-Housley’s partnership recently kicked off, her followers are likely to see more Biblical content from her in the near future.
