How Tauren Wells’ New Song Celebrates Jesus’ ‘Ultimate Act of Love and Sacrifice’

Grammy-nominated Christian artist Tauren Wells’ new single “Thank You For The Cross” is a prayer of gratitude “for the ultimate act of love and sacrifice.”
“At the center of our redemption story stands the cross and in its shadow the countless souls that have been saved by the Savior that hung upon it,” Wells explained in a statement about the track.
He continued, “When I think about what that means for me personally, the reality that Jesus truly paid it all for me, I can’t help but worship and thank him. It’s my prayer that this song helps put words around your gratitude for the ultimate act of love and sacrifice Jesus embraced for you.”
“Thank You For The Cross” joins Wells’ other recent single, “Making Room,” which has already racked up over 2 million streams on Spotify.
“Making Room was the first song that really came out of the first few prayers I was praying as God prepared my heart to start and lead a new church in Austin with Lorna,” the artist posted on Instagram. “We didn’t know much (still don’t) but we knew that if we made room for God and what only he could do, anything could happen.”
Wells added, “If you need to borrow a prayer for wherever you’re at in your life right now, a big decision, a risky move, a miracle big or small, maybe this one could help. Lord, come receive your praises, praises, praises, Holy Spirit come!”

“If you’ll give God your greatest dreams, he’ll hand you back a deeper purpose,” he posted on Instagram. “Been working on this book for quite some time now. Labored and prayed over every word. It will release this spring but I couldn’t help but share this milestone of @zondervan accepting my manuscript with all of you who follow and support me.”
