Country star Thomas Rhett just welcomed his first son after four daughters.
Rhett’s wife, Lauren Akins, shared photos on her socials of their new baby.
“Oh. my. goodness. Our hearts are just in a big ole puddle with this precious baby BOY 🩵 🦆🩵⚾️🩵🦌🩵🐟🩵” she wrote in the caption.
“Brave Elijah Akins was born last week at almost 10 pounds and almost 2 weeks early-thank you Jesus this big boy didn’t wait another 2 weeks to be born 😍. Thomas Rhett was my biggest champion in labor & delivery🤍 He helped deliver him (😭), was the first one to see and *tearfully*, mixed with a bit of shock announce to us all in the room ‘It’s a BOY’😭🩵🥰”

The couple are grateful that God chose them to be his parents.
“Your four sisters are smitten and we are completely over the moon in love with you big Brave boy 🩵🌙🩵” she said.
On Feb. 11, Akins shared an update with her followers about her sister who is battling stage 3 breast cancer and thanked fans for their prayers.
“Thank you for all the prayers and support for my sister🥰 She started chemo this week… and she’s already crushiiinnggg it likeeee a bossss👊🏽💥” she wrote. “And thank you for your kindness and excitement as we get closer to meeting this new life God has given me the privilege of carrying for the past 9 months 💕🩵💕 we cannot wait to kiss the sweet face of this baby boy or girl 😍🥰 and I can’t wait for my sister to hold this sweet little babe and love on him or her in a way that only she can 🥰😭🩵🩷”
Back in September, Rhett told Taste of Country why they wanted to wait to know their fifth baby’s gender.
“Due date is in March and we are going to wait until the day of to figure out what the gender is,” said Rhett. “It’s terrifying for me, but there’s not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that’s one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to.”
He and Akins announced their pregnancy last year. Rhett changed the lyrics of his song, “Life Changes,” to introduce the surprise.
“Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad. Big wrench got thrown in the plans that we thought we had. Now Lauren’s showing — got one on the way. That’s — five under 10. Hey what can I say? Yeah, life changes. You wake up ain’t nothing the same. Yeah, life changes,” he sang.
Congratulation to the happy family!
