Willie Robertson Turns to Bible to Learn How to Share Gospel

DUCK DYNASTY star Willie Robertson recently joined the “Jesus Calling” podcast to discuss how he relies on the Bible’s example as he shares the gospel.
“Whether I’m studying the Bible with someone and trying to teach someone, or if I’m just literally trying to figure out some of the answers to life, I always just go into the Bible and see what it says,” Robertson said.
“John 4 is like a masterclass on how this can happen,” he explained. “Jesus is talking to a woman at a well, and in that day and age, He probably shouldn’t have even been talking to her. But He does, and I think a lot of times we can share with someone part of the gospel before we even tell people what it is just by how we treat them and how we show we care about them.”
Robertson understands that we as humans make life and sharing the gospel more complicated than it has to be. But with Jesus, we have an unlimited resource to tap in to.
“Everybody’s got a story,” he said. “And for a lot of people, they need to share that story and who they are. Jesus certainly did that with her story. And then by the time the chapter ends up, the whole village had come to know Jesus. She had come to know Jesus. And I can trace that back, it started with this question, “Can I get a drink of water?” And so that’s how simply it can happen.”
Robertson dives into how to share the gospel in his new series “Gospeler” which “looks at how Jesus and his disciples approached evangelism.”
“Gospeler” is also the title of his new book.
“In my new book, Gospeler, I share personal stories and insights that will empower you to engage in meaningful conversations about Jesus with those around you,” Robertson shared on Instagram. “From celebrating your spiritual heritage to embracing conversational evangelism, this book is packed with inspiration and guidance to help you share the gospel with confidence and authenticity.”
Movieguide® recently reported on Robertson’s new book:
“I talk about my gospel story, and then the gospel story itself, and then the responses to the gospel, so it’s kind of a blend of a lot of stories in the New Testament,” he shared, adding that he also has tips for anyone looking to deepen their faith.
A synopsis of the book reads, “Could you share the gospel with another person? Would you know where to start? Do you even know what the gospel is? It’s the Good News of Jesus, and a gospeler is simply someone who shares it with others.”
“Being a gospeler is not complicated,” the synopsis continues. “And the more you share Jesus, the easier it gets. Maybe you believe other people are better at sharing their faith and it is not your gift. Maybe you think you don’t know the Bible well enough. Or you might say you haven’t figured it all out yourself, so you aren’t equipped to help anyone else. Whatever may be holding you back will be covered in this book, giving you the inspiration, guidance, and encouragement you need.”
Robertson continued, “We have so many excuses as to why we don’t [talk about the gospel] like, ‘Well, I don’t think I know the Bible well enough, and I don’t know if I have any of the right answers, and I don’t know where to start,’ and so I try to just break those down and say, ‘Hey, here’s some ideas, and here’s some ways,’ just like we would do with anything.”
