The moral perspective of this movie is excellent, but the content is raw in places. There are several references that these male pedophiles aren’t gay, but the footage seems to indicate otherwise. AN OPEN SECRET is a must-see movie for parents whose children want to go to Hollywood. Forewarned is forearmed. These children are some of the best and brightest. As the movie shows, their lives were destroyed by Hollywood’s culture of pedophilia, psychologically and physically. The good news is that AN OPEN SECRET ends on an upbeat note.

(BBB, C, PC, L, VV, SS, N, AA, DD, M) Very strong moral worldview with a little bit of Christian content, as well as some verbal nods to leftist political correctness; seven obscenities (some are sexual terms); discussion of detox, rape, domination; the entire movie is about pedophiles in Hollywood, how they groom young male stars, little boys in many cases, and some vivid descriptions of pedophile acts, which hurt the little boys a lot, plus descriptions of late night parties with sexual activity; upper male nudity on boys in photo shoots for acting jobs; descriptions of alcohol use and abuse, used to seduce children; lots of descriptions of drug use and drugging boys, including talking about Ecstasy, Quaaludes, cocaine, and other drugs, some mixed with alcohol; and, pedophiles excuse their behavior by saying men are like animals, a Darwinist fallacy.

AN OPEN SECRET is a must-see movie for parents whose children want to go to Hollywood, and thankfully contains a hopeful ending.
The movie starts with excerpts from two episodes of DIFF’RENT STROKES that were warning about the problems about pedophilia. However, one of the African American boys, Todd Bridges, said he didn’t want to be in the episode because he had been abused. Cut to a family in Cincinnati, who tell about their son going to Hollywood.
The movie explores the dark side of Hollywood. It discusses a child agent named Marty Weiss, who copped a plea and admitted to abusing a couple boys and got off with six months. The movie shows Marty ingratiating himself to the family, grooming young boys and finally raping them. The rapes are not shown.
Another Hollywood heavyweight is Michael Harrah, who eventually is exposed and leaves the business. His best friend was a child photographer, Bob Vallarde, who was convicted and is still in prison for selling pictures of these young stars. Bob was convicted because two reporters, one from the Los Angeles Times and one a business reporter, started tracking down these cases.
A large part of the movie is devoted to an Internet TV network called the Digital Entertainment Network, which became a place where several pedophiles exercised their perversion. Some of these people went to jail for a brief period of time. Some got off with a slap on the wrist. Many Hollywood heavyweights participated in the parties, such as Bryan Singer, but there’s no evidence of him having engaged in pedophile behaviors.
The movie tells the story of three boys, one the son of Jan and Fred, and how they became extremely successful and then, as adults, self-destructed. Jan and Fred’s son became comatose while detoxing and is now living in a wheelchair as a shadow of himself. Fred makes a reference to God in Heaven, which brings tears to your eyes.

The good news is that the movie ends on an upbeat note. The better news is that the Bible tells us to expose the fruitless deeds of darkness. (Ephesians 5:11) By doing so, the filmmakers may help stop some of these horrible practices in the entertainment industry.
