“Aging is a privilege,” she wrote over the video. “It is not something to fear.”
Barrymore sported a messy bun and hoodie while she showed off her aged skin to the camera.
She wrote in the caption, “Aging is a privilege that I will never take for granted.”
Other celebrities praised her actions.
“We need more of this!!!” Bella Thorne commented.

Actress and podcaster Giovanna Fletcher said, “Yes. A thousand times, YES!!!!! How lucky we are to be alive to do all the things. Xxx.”
In an episode of THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW, a fan asked her, “Can you let us know your secret to aging gracefully and being so comfortable in your own skin?”
She said, “I haven’t done anything and I want to try and stay that way…but I also am like, do whatever works for you. The only thing I do know is don’t judge other people because they do things differently.”
She admited she does struggle with her flaws but doesn’t feel the need to cosmetically correct them.
“My whole life I’ve been worried and stressed and, like, happy and having the best time ever. I would have never guessed that I would feel peace,” Barrymore said ahead of her 50th birthday this year. “This last decade has been the most a**-kicking and furthering of my life, and it is finally bringing peace.”
When Jamie Lee Curtis came on Barrymore’s show, Curtis talked about the “genocide on natural beauty.” Women have too much pressure to look young or attractive.
“I don’t want to fight nature,” Barrymore agreed with her. “I’m raising two daughters, and we were raised in an industry where it was desired to drink off the fountain of youth, and I just never subscribed to it.”
“So I appreciate everything you said. And I think men just need to let women know aging is safe and awesome,” she said.
Barrymore recently partnered with Dove to raise awareness about children not needing anti-aging products.
“Let’s never fear getting older because that is a privilege. If we create powerful and positive messaging, we get to be as playful as we want and as empowered as we want,” she said. “I’m partnering with Dove to raise awareness about this unnecessary beauty trends and help protect the self-esteem of young girls.”
It’s wonderful to see celebrities use their platform to encourage women to embrace their natural beauty.
